Acumatica 2019 R2 Offers Exciting New Features

In September 2019, Acumatica announced new features as part of their Acumatica R2 rollout. The 2019 version includes exciting additions of Google G-suite integration, Power BI, and Tableau on the Acumatica platform.

Usability Enhancements

First on the announcement list are new usability enhancements. These include new mobile-enabled user-defined fields, which provide the same flexibility on mobile devices which desktop users enjoyed. Conditional formatting and an advanced workflow engine with global messaging capabilities greatly improve efficiency throughout the system and save time for users. Lastly, a new Pivot Table Widget for Dashboards lets uses take actions based on summary information.

New Integrations

Perhaps some of the most exciting news came from the partners who are now enabling integrations into Acumatica 2019 R2.

Power BI from Microsoft is a business analytics service that provides interactive visualizations and business intelligence capabilities. The interface offers users the ability to create their own reports and dashboards. It’s simple enough that most novice users can get the hang of it quickly and make their own reports and dashboards quite soon after using the software for the first time.

Tableau is a familiar name to many companies and for good reason. The company’s software is well-known for its excellent data visualization capabilities. Companies using Tableau love the fact that they can take data and transform it into many different charts, graphs, and other visualizations to make it easily understood by any audience.

Another name that you might recognize among those who now offer integrations with Acumatica 2019 R2 is Google G-Suite. G-Suite offers a popular group of business software tools including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and similar software. Many companies also like G-Suite’s cloud storage and access which enables multiple users to collaborate on a single document at a time.

The good news is that all three software companies—Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and Google G-Suite—are now third-party applications that integrate with Acumatica. Easier Data Migration

Another added feature in Acumatica R2 2019 are the data migration templates. These templates enable new users to migrate existing data easily and seamlessly into Acumatica, as needed.

 

Financial Management Improvements

Acumatica Responds to User Requests

Acumatica is well known in the software industry for truly listening and responding to customer requests. One area in which the company responded this year is the restricted use of control accounts. This prevents out of balance mistakes. The payment application process has also been refined to minimize the number of clicks and improve processing speed for multiple payments.

Enhancements to Special Editions

Acumatica produces several special editions for engineering, field service, and construction. This year’s enhancements, as stated in the company’s press release, include:

  1. “Acumatica Manufacturing Edition 2019 R2 enhances Engineering Change Control (ECC), streamlining multiple change requests by optionally grouping them for approval process, and displaying them in bill-of-material comparisons. The Bill of Materials (BOM) has advanced visualization tools and reports to improve usability. Material Requirements Planning (MRP) has improved forecasting and exception handling.
  2. Acumatica Field Service Edition supports new cross-module workflows with integrated Project Accounting supporting service contracts, project schedules, tasks, and cost codes by service order type. Visual calendar boards feature real-time mapping and travel estimates for service appointments based on current traffic information from Microsoft’s Bing mapping service.
  3. Construction Edition adds tracking of Daily Field Reports to provide all stakeholders visibility to timely information. Users can now use two-tier change management capabilities to effectively manage change workflow. Enhanced lien waiver functionality avoids accidental or premature vendor payments.”
