Many times we find ourselves needing to “test” transactions with our “real” data and not the Sage Sample Company. In this example, we’ll look at how to best set up a test company in Sage 100 ERP (formerly Sage MAS 90 / Sage MAS 200).
Start Sage 100 and navigate to Library Master à Main à Company Maintenance. Enter a new company code, company name and click on the Preferences tab. We recommend that you select a Company Specific Background color. Once selected, click the Accept button.
Enter the test company code and click the Copy button.
You will see a warning, read it and click OK to continue.
Enter the company code you wish to copy FROM in the Source company and click Proceed. Make sure your test company is in the Destination Company.
You will see a verification screen and click yes if you wish to proceed with the copying process. When it’s complete you are ready to login to test company which is a copy of your production company.
