Many times we find ourselves needing to “test” transactions with our “real” data and not the Sage Sample Company. In this example, we’ll look at how to best set up a test company within Sage 300.
Start the Sage 300 Database Setup application. (You would have had to already set up the SQL database), Enter the database id, description and other connection information as required. We highly recommend setting up a “Company Color” so that you can easily identify when you are in the test company. Click on OK.
Start the Sage 300 Database Copy application. Select the source database (which should be your Sage 300 production company). Click the next button.
Select the Target Database, which should the new database you just set up. Click the next button.
You will see the verification screen and if all is correct, click Finish.
You have to confirm what you want the application to do. If correct, click yes.
Upon completion you will see the following screen. Click OK and you are ready to login to your new test Sage 300 company.
